Do the residents need to organise work prior to our installation? 

No. A complete turnkey solution is supplied with no other works required. 

What is the charge capability of units installed? 

22kw will be available at each point. 

Why not install DC chargers? 

DC chargers are excellent for charging vehicles very quickly, but they reduce battery life.  Manufacturers recommended only one charge in five should be DC. 

Are groundworks included? 

Groundworks and reinstatement are included in our works. 

Will the installation affect the available electricity in your building? 

No. A new ESB supply will be installed for the charge points. 

Are EV parking bays any bigger than normal parking bays? 

No. 

Will you lose car parking spaces? 

No. They will be allocated for EVs. 

What happens if there is an issue with a charging point? 

Our chargers are remotely monitored to ensure they are working correctly. There is also a  customer care hotline. In addition, we include preventative maintenance as part of our service.  

What if I run out of power in my EV when on the road? 

AA has begun rolling out what it calls Mobile Electric Vehicle Charging Units, which can quickly add enough charge to the stranded electric car at the side of the road to get it back moving under its own power. Expect to see much more of that in the coming years as the number of EVs on the road increases.  

DO I NEED TO SUBSCRIBE TO USE THE NETWORK AND, IF SO, HOW CAN I?

Yes, you will need to subscribe. You can register via the app. A fob for charging is also an option. 

HOW FAST DOES MY CAR CHARGE AT EVOLUTION IRELAND CHARGE POINTS?

Chargers supply 22kw, meaning 22kw is available which is equivalent to 120km of charge an hour.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO CHARGE? 

The cost of the electrical units (kWh), will be set in consultation with the OMC. 

WHAT CABLES CAN BE USED ON THE EVOLUTION NETWORK? 

Type 2 sockets. This is the European standard. 

WHERE WILL THE CHARGING STATIONS BE LOCATED? 

The location of the charging points will be in consultation with the residence committee. 

HOW DO I ORDER A KEY FOB FOR TURNING ON AND OFF A CHARGE POINT?

At registration, you will be asked whether you would like to receive a FOB/RFID card. The key fob will then be sent out to you.
